Jay Cornell
Head of Content
I began as an editor and publisher in the “dead tree” segment of the industry before moving to the web in its early days. I’ve done web development, production, writing, editing, design, graphics, and animation on more websites and HTML emails than I care to count.
At RolloutSF, I wear many hats. I enjoy creating content, condensing complex technical matter into entertaining, user-friendly content: website text, blog and social media posts, white papers, and infographics. I love to find just the right words to make your point, and to catch those embarrassing typos. My art school training and long experience helping art directors adapt to the web mean I’m good at creating web graphics and adjusting CSS to make websites look good on all devices.
I’m the former Managing Editor of (and contributor to) h+ magazine, the co-author (with R.U. Sirius) of Transcendence: The Disinformation Encyclopedia of Transhumanism and the Singularity. (Watch the book trailer I made here.) I also have a contribution in Visions for a World Transformed: 99 Ideas for Making the World a Better Place — Starting Right Now.
In my spare time, I work on an art project called Undated Records, an imaginary record label.
“I’ve worked with Jay for a number of years on a number of projects and he's never let me down. Always on time. Always on budget. Always on target. In other words, he knows what he’s doing. Those are the kind of people you want to hang on to. Hang on to Jay.”
